Access Control

Access Control is the name given to systems which, instead of a key, use a different method of verifying that a user can gain access through a door.

 

Such methods include keypads which accept a PIN number, card swipe and proximity systems, and biometric systems, which uses the actual person’s features (usually their fingerprint or their eye) to decide whether to grant access. In all cases, it is possible to deny users access without having to reclaim the card or token from them, by simply reprogramming the system.
